Continuing Medical Education
The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ASCRS takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of the CME activity.
Objectives
Ophthalmologists attending the ASCRS Symposium on Cataract, IOL and Refractive Surgery and the ASOA Congress on Ophthalmic Practice Management will have the opportunity to:
- learn new surgical techniques
- strengthen and sharpen surgical skills
- receive instruction on clinical issues in anterior segment surgery
- hear and assess current clinical research on surgical techniques, instrumentation, and outcomes
- view and examine state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment and supplies
- increase practice management knowledge and improve skills.
CME Credits
The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery designates this educational activity for a maximum of 40 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Physicians not licensed in the U.S. who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Physicians can claim CME credit up to the maximum listed above for attending the Physicians Program, the Practice Management (ASOA) Program, or a combination thereof.

Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE)
The ASOA Congress on Ophthalmic Practice Management qualifies for COE Category A credits.

The Clinical & Surgical Staff Program is JCAHPO CEU approved. Each Clinical & Surgical lecture is worth 1.0 Group A credit, and each workshop is 2.0 Group A credit.
