Fairfax, VA – The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery will donate $5,000 to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund, it was announced here, today, by ASCRS President Samuel Masket.
“Katrina and numerous other storms wrought extensive damage to the Gulf State Region and the Mid-West last year. Many of our fellow Americans have had their lives seriously disrupted as they experienced the loss of homes and businesses,” Masket said. “This donation is an expression of our members’ compassion. Unfortunately, meteorologists again predict an active hurricane season for 2006, and we encourage all Americans to support disaster relief efforts,” Masket said.
Those interested in donating can do so by contacting the American Red Cross at www.RedCross.org.
